LIVING MY AMENDS

Oh! What I’d give to go back in time –

undo the pain, wash away the grime.

To take back the words, avoid the mess –

scream “no!” instead of having said “yes”.

Ghosts of the past imprison my mind –

from the people I’ve hurt, to acting unkind.

Have to live with my past, it won’t change or bend –

the only choice left is to live my amends…
