Consultation

Traditional talk therapy is more appropriate for those with an unremarkable past history and who seek self-discovery, awareness and personal insight. Sessions typically occur 1-2 times weekly for 45 minutes where we spend time discovering insights, relational patterns, and reasons underlying your current challenges.

Generally speaking, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy works best for people whose current challenges have parallels and similarities with past adverse experiences. EMDR is a unique, powerful, short-term therapy that requires minimal talking while using eye movements to reprocess events, situations, and memories. Sessions usually last for 90 minutes, weekly. EMDR has successfully treated issues due to trauma, depression, anxiety, relationships, phobias and more.

Couples therapy is most suited for those looking to enhance their relationship with their spouse or potential spouse, such as premarital counseling. Sessions are 60-minutes and occur 1-2 times weekly.

Deciding which type of therapy is best for you will depend on several factors including personal history and current issues. At your initial session, we will review your history and together decide which therapy is most suited for your needs.
